America's role in the Rules Based Order was allowed to atrophy for a long time under the stewardships of the Democrats and GOP. All 'military operations'/wars start off with great enthusiasm before the complexities of politics descend over the battlefield. We're not there with Venezuela yet, but the vacuum left by Maduro's departure leaves behind an awful mess for all concerned.
